Facebook Business Page
During my time as the Director of Marketing for Lund Trading, it became necessary to start promoting the jewelry line we distributed, Trollbeads, on Facebook. The goal was to reach the end users of our product, or consumers, while including our independent retailers, the customers that actually purchased our product from us. We faced a couple of challenges. The owner of the company that I worked for, who is a very smart man, didn’t completely understand the value of using social media. I tried to explain the benefits – on a number of occasions – with no success. I decided to work on the Fan Page in my free time, mostly on nights and weekends, encouraging our employees to “Like” the page and recommend the page to their friends. Slowly but surely we started making progress and eventually our owner bought in. With virtually no advertising used to promote the page, we were able to leverage our business’ existing operations to increase our fans to 5,000 in just about a year.
